The Justice for Zara fund has been fully accounted for, according to Deputy Minister Marhamah Rosli. She emphasized that no funds were misused in managing the Justice for Zara fund, which was established to cover costs related to the inquest proceedings. As an activist who initiated the Justice for Zara movement, she assured that the fund account was fully segregated and not merged with any other accounts belonging to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) she had previously chaired. The fund has its own authorized signatories, including Zara Qairina Mahathir's mother, Noraidah Lamat, several lawyers, and an NGO committee. As of 9 am on Wednesday, the fund had collected RM254,995.92, with a remaining balance of RM96,059.97 after expenses, including transportation and accommodation costs for expert witnesses and Zara Qairina's family throughout the preparation and conduct of the inquest. Marhamah also addressed allegations circulating on social media linking her to a gold-related scam, denying the claims and asserting that she was a victim who had been deceived and betrayed. She reaffirmed her commitment to pursuing justice in the case, urging all parties to allow the inquest to proceed without interference. Despite her new government post, she pledged to continue supporting the family.
