Campillo Fall 2026: Redefining Masculinity with Corsetry & Mexican Craftsmanship (2026)

Get ready for a fashion revolution! Patricio Campillo's Fall 2026 collection dares to challenge conventional norms with a unique exploration of identity, style, and the human form.

Campillo, known for drawing inspiration from his Mexican roots and artisanal craftsmanship, takes a bold step into the abstract this season. He invites us to consider the intricate relationship between our identity, personal style, and the physical constraints we sometimes impose upon ourselves.

"The idea was to explore how these elements intertwine and influence each other," Campillo explains. "Clothing can be an extension of our identity, but it can also be a form of self-restraint. I wanted to bring this concept, often associated with women's fashion, into a masculine context and aesthetic."

And so, the corset makes a grand entrance, layered beneath outerwear or boldly displayed over shirts. Structure becomes the defining feature, with regular shirts transformed by internal padding and jacket-like shoulder structures. "The corset, with its internal foam, creates a unique shape on the body. We wanted to highlight the distinction between the garment's structure and the fabric that covers it," Campillo adds.

This collection pays homage to the brand's origins in Charro suiting, a style characterized by its masculine codes and traditional fabrics. "We wanted to create a dialogue between these quintessentially masculine elements and more feminine, restrictive pieces," Campillo says.

The focus on craftsmanship is evident, with collaborations that bring a unique earthy touch. Buttons, brooches, and even horse mane hair make unexpected appearances, adding a raw, natural element to the designs.

As the brand establishes itself commercially, Campillo reflects on the cultural significance of his work. "This season is about an internal, intimate journey of self-discovery. Fashion's evolution within society is closely tied to our desire to dress not just for different situations, but to feel a certain way."

But here's where it gets controversial: Is fashion a form of self-expression or a means of restraint? And how does this collection challenge or reinforce traditional gender norms?

And this is the part most people miss: the intricate craftsmanship and cultural elements that breathe life into these designs.

What do you think? Is Campillo's collection a bold step forward or a controversial misstep? Share your thoughts in the comments and let's spark a discussion!
